

















The next day we toured the Grand Palace, which was incredibly impressive in its scale and ornate architecture. It was pretty hot out and Viola promptly fell asleep. Our stroller ended up being not very useful (other than getting around in the airports) because the sidewalks were so bumpy.
The many-headed serpant is considered the guardian of Buddha, and we loved that imagery... Viola found another elephant at the exit, which put a smile on her face.
After a big morning of tourist attractions, we took it easy back at the hotel for the rest of the day. That was our biggest lesson of the trip - that it was important to take lots of breaks in the haven of our hotel room where Viola was the happiest because she could cruise around on her own.
This was our last day in Phnom Penh, then we were off to visit our friend Joe in Vientiane...
