Wednesday morning we flew from San Francisco to Denver, then on to Cancun. We then took a 2 hour bus ride and a 30 minute ferry to a small island called Holbox. The island only has dirt roads, and most of the transportation is by foot or golf cart.
The hotel was right on the beach, and the water was amazing. It was super shallow for about 100 feet off the shore, just perfect for building sand castles and hanging out in the water.
Our luggage didn't make it, however (it took 4 days to get it!) so we had to provision up in the small town. We got diapers and some clothes for us and Viola that we found in the tiny stores. When our luggage finally arrived, we realized we hardly needed any of it.
